[Character name] Artemis Crock
[Age] 15
[Canon] Young Justice
[Point in time taken from canon] Post-Season 1
[Background]
History here
[Personality]
Artemis is just like any teenager. She goes to school, she hangs out with friends. Her extracurricular activity? Fighting crime. Totally normal, right? In fact, Artemis is part of a group of eight teenage sidekicks, each with a different ability and talent they bring to the team.
If there's one thing that's obvious about Artemis, it's her attitude. She definitely has one, and even from the first moment she's seen, it radiates from her. If not clear from the smirk on her face, her body language speaks it. She cockily places her hands on her hips, leaning just enough to give her that look of attitude. She knows she's good, and she won't deny it. Even if asked, she'll proudly boast of her abilities. Proud? You bet.
When she doesn't like someone, it's easy to tell, too. Wally irritated her from the moment they met, and for a while, all they did was argue. She bosses him around, fusses at him, and even calls him names at times, such as 'miss manners.' In conversation with Megan, she even refers to him being full of it. Wally definitely annoys her, especially when he flirts with Megan. After Wally spent half of an episode lying about believing in magic, Artemis finally snapped, yelling at him about lying and screwing everything up because he was trying to impress Megan.
She's definitely serious when necessary. She fussed at Wally when he was joking around when they were in the middle of a mission, showing she likes to remain focused on the task at hand. She's also tough, and apparently not afraid to kill if necessary. After forgetting the past six months in another episode, she tells Wally her dad probably wants her to kill him. The casual way she says this shows what she's not afraid to do, but it also shows what she was raised to do. Though not fully explained, it's apparent she's been through harsh training in wielding her bow.
Though tough in exterior, she's not all tough. She can be nice at times. She gets along well with Megan especially, but Zatanna too. She has rather girly conversations with both of them. She also gets frightened, actually crying out in fear when she woke up in an unknown place. She did recover quickly, going back and maintaining her image of unafraid. But the hesitation and fear came back when it came to Megan going into her mind and through her memories. She's unsettled by this because it means letting someone in. Fear struck her again in the face of dying, when Red Tornado's siblings were attacking the cave. She was literally driven to a fetal position, but she eventually overcame her fears and saved her friends. She also has plenty of doubts. When Roy starts on her about her possibly being the mole, she feels the need to prove herself. Instead acting with the team, she went behind their backs, trying to prove that not only was she not the mole, but that she was just as good as Roy, who had just joined the team too.
She's not one to grow close to others easily, and she certainly doesn't want anyone to see her past. However, she has grown fond of the team, and she considers them like a family. Even so, she's still afraid of letting them in all the way. It took practically to the end of the season for Artemis to finally come clean about her parents, and even then, it was clear she was worried what her friends would think of her. Though hesitant with her new team, there is one she's close to - her mother. Though her mother was away in jail for six years, Artemis kept in contact with her the entire time. She wrote every week, and when Paula was finally released, Artemis was there waiting for her. She obviously cares deeply for the woman and would do anything she asked of her.
As the season comes to an end, it's clear things are different between Wally and Artemis. When he annoys her, she still snaps at him like she does with anyone else that does the same, but actions between the two show more After the incident with the training exercise, she admits to Black Canary she isn't ready for the team to know, but specifically uses Wally's name, because his reaction to it mattered the most to her. The two end up saving each other multiple times missions as the series progresses, and once, Artemis actually made a temporary splint when Wally broke his arm. Finally, at the end of season one, two kiss for the first time.
It's obvious she's had a rough upbringing. Her father is a villain by the name of Sportsmaster, her sister is the assassin Cheshire, and her mother was locked up for six years for crimes she committed as Huntress. Though Artemis was raised in this kind of household, she never wanted a part of it. Her dad trained her and wanted her to be like them, but she resisted, sneaking out and fighting crime behind his back. Green Arrow and Batman were the ones that came to her about joining the Young Justice team, and it was her idea to hide her true identity from them. Seeing as the two heroes are covering for her and the fact that she wants to get out of that life style shows she is ready to change her life and can be trusted. But even though the life of crime isn't want she wants, she's had that influence in her life for so long, part of her thought, and still thinks, she can't get away from it. This is shown after Roy gives her such a hard time. Not only was she feeling replaced in the team, she was also blamed for the failure of the mission. When her dad comes to her and again tells her she was born to live a life of crime, she falters and does what he says. This only lasts a short time, because she confesses the truth to her team, and they use it as an opportunity to bring him down. It was clearly hard on her to do, but after she flat out kicks him in the face, it's also clear she needed to prove him wrong to grow.
[Abilities]
Artemis is very talented with a bow and arrow. She's very precise with her aim and rarely misses her mark. After her mother was arrested, her father took the time to train her hard in this art. As well as this, she also is a martial artist. She also has experience in both committing AND fighting crime. Firstly by being raised in a family of villains, and secondly by fighting against her destiny by becoming a part of the Young Justice team for a few months, on top of the times she snuck out and did so on her own.
[Other important stuff] Nah, don't think so.

[First Person]
What were you doing before now?
Just finished saving the world, but that's nothing new.
Someone is trying to rob you! What do you do?
Wow, someone would clearly be stupid to try that. But I'd stop them, no problem.
Would you consider yourself a hero or a villain? Why? Neither is an option as well, but still tell why.
Ugh, have you been talking to Red Arrow? I'm a hero, no matter what anyone else says.
You are a given a mission. Would you complete it effectively or would you goof off and do something else? Expand a little on the response.
Goofing off? Um, no, that'd be Wally. I stay focused on our missions, thanks.
Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?
Adventure is kind of my thing. Once you've had a taste of it, there's no going back.
If you could change your current lifestyle or job career, what would it be?
Kinda just left the family business, actually. But I like what I'm doing now much better. Wouldn't change for the world.
[Third Person]
Artemis didn't like this place. She didn't like it one bit. First of all, she was pulled away from her home. Granted, Gotham wasn't always the best place to live, but it was home. And her mother...gah, she had to be worried sick. Not that she hadn't disappeared for a few days on missions before, but this was different. This was another world.
She fought back a grumbled sigh as she sat on a rooftop, watching the people on Somni scurry about, living their lives. She wasn't in her costume, opting to play it causal, but her crossbow didn't leave her side. It was tucked away in her jacket, not that she actually thought she'd need it.
It was as she sat watching that she heard a laugh, one that sounded familiar. She perked up, but it became clear the laugh didn't belong to who she thought it might. That was another thing she hated about this place. It wasn't fair, what it did to her. What it did to them. After so long, so many fights, arguments, missions....they kissed. And he didn't remember. He didn't remember. He didn't remember anything. He didn't remember learning about her dad, and it made her so...so angry. Just thinking about it again she found her hands clenching against her arms. He was mad at her about the Sportsmaster mission again, which she couldn't blame him for. She had messed up that mission, but they got past that. At least, she remembered them being past it.
Her internal ranting probably would have continued if it wasn't for an outcry. At first, she didn't react to it, but when she heard the cry again, she finally lifted her head off her arms, spotting a pair of figures in the alley beside the building she rested on. It only took a second for her to realized what was going on. The guys was mugging the smaller guy. Her face darkened, and she acted. She didn't even reach for her bow, knowing she wouldn't need it. With a flash of motion, she was down on the ground, using the fire escape, only skipping most of the steps.
The mugger looked up when he heard her land, only to laugh. "You gonna save him, little girl?"
"Yeah. I am. And you're really gonna regret asking for it."
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I've always loved playing Artemis, and I was majorly tempted by our lovely Robin.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Being nice~ (l-lol have I named all of the rules yet?)
[Any questions?] Nope, I'm good!
